The Blue Anchor in the village of Feering near Colchester is an old coaching inn that dates back to the 16th century. In 2013, it was given a new lease of life with an extensive refurbishment, creating a more open and inviting space with stylish and contemporary finishes. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday with a choice of A la carte, Fixed Price and Afternoon Tea Menus as well as offering superb traditional Sunday roasts. The highly skilled and dedicated team of chefs have been awarded an AA rosette for the quality of the food, something they have retained since 2019. The Blue Anchor also runs regular events including six-course tasting menus, themed dinners, and other events throughout the year. We are also available for private hire events, such as weddings, big birthday celebrations, baby showers, in the Garden Room and Olive Garden, where we can cater for up to 80 people. You can stay over in one of the ensuite rooms and enjoy the tranquil village feel whilst being close to Colchester, Chelmsford and even London.
