The Bear is a traditional English Inn made up of several smaller rooms. Entrance Hall; this space in the centre of the Inn has table to seat 8 people. New Room; A Private dining space for up to 8 people. Lounge Bar; traditionally used for drinking, this cosy lounge has the benefit of the huge stove, seat beneath the original beams and surrounded by any curious. Scotch Corner; rumour has it that this room may be named so because it's possible that Mary Queen of Scots may have walked through this door at a stop at The Bear when travelling between Chatsworth and Hardwick. A private space for up to 8 people. Buntings; Named after Frank Bunting a local legend and blacksmith. Here you have 4 tables and a very cosy log burner. Witches Nest; a lovely room with 3 tables and windows overlooking the beer garden and a duel aspect log burner. The Tack Room; located at the back of the Inn, this room has 4 tables and enjoys the dual log burner. Bear Hall; our iconic function room, with seating for up to 80 people or 110 standing. Used as the Sunday Carvery room too. Bear hall has character beams, huge pieces of art all in gold frames and ceiling with feature hanging lights and foliage.
