Harrigan’s Hunter Valley

Previously known as Tallawanta Hotel, construction on Harrigan’s Irish Pub and Accommodation began on the 27th January, 2000 with the doors being officially opened on 21st April that year.

Named after a song from the musical Yankee Doodle Dandy which was written by George M Cohen, a young Irish man living in New York in the 1800’s, Harrigan’s lends itself to authentic décor of traditional wrought iron, stone work, wood work and paintings. There are many sayings displayed throughout the property quoting the traditional Gaelic language. Take for example “Cead Mile Failta” meaning “a hundred thousand welcomes”.

Located on Broke Road, just 2 minutes from Hunter Valley Gardens, Harrigan’s has grown over the years to include 48 accommodation rooms along with function and conference facilities. It has fast become the iconic pub in the Hunter Valley, with it being the only one surrounded by vineyards. We offer great meals, accommodation and service with a relaxed atmosphere, Harrigan’s is a place you can bring your family and friends for any occasion.
