A premier destination for Japanese cuisine, Haco in the west Darlinghurst neighbourhood of Sydney, is a sure bet for a great night out. With menus inspired by the great tradition of Omakase (meaning 'respectfully leaving another to decide what is best'), Haco offers tempura inspired Omakase experience, created by Kentsuke Yada. Their artisan cooks prepare rich and flavourful menus to their specifications––think teppanyaki, but more personal and elevated. However, as a result, dietary requirements often cannot be accommodated. But if your palate is prepared, the in-room dining experience is well worth it. Executive chefs Keita Abe and Kensuke Yada use premium ingredients––from lobster, scallops and eel to pork, prawns, yuzu, and their signature tempura treats––to serve up mouth-watering, Japanese-inspired dishes for lunch and dinner (and take-out). Inside, the mood is refined, and tables are typically shared between 12 people. A pricey destination, the set menu for dinner is $185 and $120 for lunch.
