About The Cock Inn Mugginton
For over ten years this once very popular pub has stood empty, Now it’s back! The lovely old building has been given a much needed make over and a major new contemporary extension built to house a modern & special restaurant… We’ve designed and built a place where you’ll find a wonderful ambience amongst an eclectic combination of original features and modern interpretations. We hope you’ll agree we have transformed this historic and much loved watering hole, into a first class traditional pub with a modern cutting edge.
Very good service
Trendy pub with a lovely garden very attractive building. Food excellent and good menu choice. Staff very friendly and professional and really wanted to please.
Lovely mid week birthday visit. Garden Pod for 10 people. Amelia is a credit to you, she was attentive with impeccable service to the group. Food and drinks were excellent with great value for money. This is a great local for us that we continue to use weekly. Thanks very much.
Thank you Hamish … first class service x
Booked one of your garden rooms as a special treat for my doughier and family. Their meals were fine but I had a vegetarian lentil option. This was so salty it was inedible. I asked my daughter to taste it as her preference for salt is more than mine. She agreed it was inedible. I told the waitress, she apologised and asked if she could get me something else. I had soup. But not very happy having to pay for a meal that was completely inedible and when paying no mention was made of the matter. Not good customer service.
Glad you do a vegan menu as most places don't
Outstanding service from the young waitress looking after the Garden Rooms.
Absolutely amazing as always
It was frustrating that we had booked a table for 7pm but were promptly told that the kitchen usually closed at 7 and we needed to rush to put our order though. We wanted to relax and enjoy our evening and thought that 7pm is very early for a kitchen to close, even on a Sunday, 7pm is peak dinner time for a restaurant! In the end we were very happy with the food, it was delicious, but the service from the kitchen felt rushed. Perhaps don't allow people to book tables at the same time as the kitchen closes, or maybe have something on the website to say what time the kitchen closes.
Fabulous Sunday lunch in comfortable, stylish surroundings. Will certainly return.
Came for meal outside in the garden room Had lovely meal and great service We will be back !
Our food was lovely But we felt the pudding size didn’t fit the price We will return but would not be having a pudding Kind regards Laura Quince
Thank you for your feedback I have emailed you in this regard.
Fabulous as ever!
Lively meal. Food was fabulous. Very friendly staff and overall a lovely dining experience.
Lovely location food and service on the night I understand why with large parties you want to prebook but would have thought this could have been from main menu or large group menu on the night In the end all resolved and had a fabulous evening thank you
Had to ask for spoons for the starters The Thai curry also needed a spoon to enable the broth to be eaten, served without one by the time I asked my daughter why she hadn’t eaten it the broth was cold.
Burger was dry, a meal was incorrect
We are sorry to hear this and one of our dedicated team will be in touch to discuss this with you.
first class service and exceptional good quality food once again for our 2nd visit. Adam once again proved himself an exceptional front of house manager and his promotion is very well earned. we look forward to our next visit soon.
We’ve never had a disappointing visit!
Courteous but not prompt service
Highly recommend for a leisurely lunch in a lovely setting. Delicious freshly cooked food and great service from staff. We loved it!
Would definitely recommend food , service and atmosphere all excellent an enjoyable evening out.
The burger was a lump of dried out meat not edible. The cheeseboard charged at £7 had 3 wedges of mediocre cheese and a few crackers and some wet sticks of celery not good value for money. The service was poor.
