This place is open for breakfast and serves everything for the rest of the day, from subs and sandwiches, to burgers, fish and southern fried chicken. As a gastropub, these guys pride themselves on supplying the best food and drink combination around Kildare. Hartes is renowned for its steak on the stone cooking, which allows the customer to cook their own steak at the very same table they sit at. Intertwined with food sourced from local artisan producers, the menu is designed to have something for everyone. The small plates here are another good option for keeping costs down if you’re eating out on a budget.
At Sano, you’ll discover authentic Neapolitan pizza made with the finest traditional ingredients sourced from Italy. Moycarn Lodge Restaurant offers stunning views overlooking the River Suck. It’s ideal for families too, as there is a great kids menu with options from as low as €6.50. From pasta in tomato sauce, to fish fingers and chips or sausages and chips, there are good choices to keep them happy and plenty of delicious plates to keep you happy too. If you’re here for lunch, you can also make your own sandwich for € 6.95. Choose your type of bread and then select up to four fillings.

Be warned, The Tavern’s menu is pretty extensive – choosing could be your biggest challenge. And what makes it even harder is it’s all very budget-friendly, too! The Wild Atlantic Way is well represented here, with the freshest of Atlantic fish and plenty of produce from the ever growing number of local producers. Chef/Owner Myles O’Brien and his team are partial to a bit of foraging too, so you never know what will pop up on their Specials Menu. Take your time, welcoming fires are dotted around the interior with lots of nooks and cosy corners to help you relax and get settled in.
