Glasgow’s newest gastropub opens its doors
Glasgow’s beloved gastropub, The Loveable Rogue, has just opened its third location, this time in the heart of Strathbungo, bringing its signature mix of comfort food, warm atmosphere, and quirky charm to the Southside. Run by Glaswegian couple Joe and Amalia Lazzerini, the new spot on Nithsdale Road is all about creating a welcoming, neighbourhood feel with food, friends, and family at the heart of their philosophy.
The new Strathbungo location is crafted with a cosy, rustic vibe that sets it apart. Exposed brick walls, mosaic ceiling tiles, distressed wood flooring, and hanging picture frames bring character to the space, which seats up to 40 guests indoors and 20 outdoors in a heated area. With its dog-friendly policy, The Loveable Rogue Southside aims to be a spot where everyone can feel at home – furry friends included!
Known for its unique spins on family favourites, The Loveable Rogue’s menu includes dishes like Ham Hough, Pan-Fried Gnocchi, and Monkfish Cheek Scampi. There’s also the ever-popular Fish and Chips, reimagined with a touch of flair. But the real crowd-puller is the Sunday Roast menu, a much-loved staple in the West and East End locations. From classic Roast Beef with Yorkshire Puddings to creative roast variations, the Sunday feast has become a weekly highlight.
The gastropub is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm until late for its à la carte menu, with Sundays dedicated to the all-day roast from 12pm to 9pm.
Amalia Lazzerini expressed her excitement about the opening: “With the opening of our third Glasgow location, The Loveable Rogue continues to grow our restaurant brand in our home city. By combining home-comfort dishes with warm, welcoming service, our new Southside restaurant creates an energetic yet relaxing dining experience for the Strathbungo neighbourhood and Southside community.”
The Loveable Rogue Southside embodies the Lazzerinis’ commitment to creating a community space where everyone feels welcome. With its relaxed atmosphere, warm interiors, and a menu that offers both hearty classics and modern twists, the Strathbungo location is ready to become the go-to spot for locals seeking great food and friendly faces.
