New Year’s Eve can be a big day for many people, looking back at the year just passed and looking forward to the year ahead. Our guide to spending New Year’s Eve in Liverpool will provide you with the best of the best, whether you want to have an intimate meal with friends, a lively gathering with the whole family or just sit and watch the world go by with a glass of red wine – we have it all covered in this ultimate New Year’s Eve guide!
Manifest was awarded an AA Rosette Award in both 2022 and 2023 for Culinary Excellence. Where else then to wrap up 2024 than at this critically acclaimed establishment? With Liverpool’s historic shipping-trade inspiring the name, the team at Manifest takes great pride in sourcing high-quality seasonal goods, supporting local producers and putting their passion onto plates and into glasses. As a result, they regularly change their food and wine menu so you can rest assured that you’re getting the freshest ingredients.
The current menu includes small plates like the beer cooked mussels and sweet onion tart. If you are feeling extra hungry, you should try the larger plates like roast venison and caramelised butternut squash. Got a sweet tooth? Why not try the Liverpool-inspired Anfield blackberry pavlova? It’s deliciously light and goes perfectly with a glass of fizz.
Belzan is the perfect place to have a drink with your friends on New Year’s Eve. It’s a neighbourhood bistro and wine bar serving humble dishes, inspired by the places and people the founders have met. Founded in December 2017 by owners Chris Edwards and Owain Williams, and chef Sam Grainger, a small but incredibly dedicated and talented team has been the key to Belzan’s success as it’s now a staple establishment on the infamous Smithdown Road.
The menu changes frequently depending on produce, so you are guaranteed original, fresh dishes. Or, if you would rather sit and relax with a warm mulled wine, this relaxed setting is a great spot for you to watch 2024 come to a close.
If you’re looking for a special New Year’s Eve treat, look no further than The Art School. This restaurant is a melting pot for hearty, rich flavours and the finest produce in Liverpool. Every year the Buyers Club goes all out for New Year’s Eve, with servings starting from 1pm and the lively DJ sets starting at 10pm to get everyone in the mood for the celebrations.
Before you start drinking and sampling the delightful wine list, line your stomach with some delicious Italian dishes, like the wild mushroom and tagliolini pasta or the pepperoni pizza. If you prefer something lighter, you should share some small plates, like the Buyers board with prosciutto, gorgonzola, cornichons and more. The board pairs perfectly with a glass (or bottle) of white, red or even orange wine.
