Where to find the best barbecued food in Liverpool
Who doesn’t love a good BBQ? Liverpool is definitely no exception to this. We all know summer has arrived when the barbecues begin to appear. Liverpool has some fantastic BBQ spots to get your fix all year round, meaning your BBQ craving doesn’t have to be sated only in summer. If you’re a true BBQ lover, the following restaurants will be sure to make your mouth water.
We’ve included Red Dog Saloon in our guide because its delicious BBQ, hickory, smokey and generally delicious meat platters and burgers are messy, juicy and massive! The huge range of Texas inspired barbecued meats such as smoked beef ribs, brisket and chili hotdogs leaves you spoilt for choice. You name it, Red Dog Saloon has probably cooked it in its BBQ and thrown some smokey beans and creamy coleslaw alongside it. We cannot recommend this place enough!
Take a trip down to the vibrant Bold Street to discover the incredible dining scene there, including Kassap Meat House which serves the best British beef such as Aberdeen Angus, Hereford and British Isles beef, which is prepared using Turkish traditional cooking methods. All food is prepared on site from T-bones to tomahawks, which are then served at your table in a rustic style. Enter into a casual and elegant dining setting with fantastic customer service to go with it. As well as steak being on the menu, there is also a range of chicken, burgers, seafood and veggie dishes too.
Macello Meat House has gotten so popular it now has two venues – one in the south of Liverpool in Childwall and one in the north in West Derby Village. Macello Meat House first opened in Childwall in 2017 and it quickly became known for its delicious chargrilled steaks and mouthwatering burgers. Craving the best BBQ food Liverpool has to offer? This is definitely up there!
If you’re looking for the perfect place to satisfy your BBQ cravings, look no further than Woolton Village in South Liverpool. That’s where you’ll find lovely independent shops, bars, cafes and most importantly… restaurants! Bavette Steakhouse is ideal if you dream about a good old-fashioned BBQ. At Bavette, you can choose from a wide range of meats, fish and steaks, including smaller options such as a filet or the Bavette flank. It also serves delicious barbecued meats such as grilled chicken thighs or fish, both served with roasted veggies and potatoes.
This cosy venue is still relatively new to the scene, opening in May 2023. It specalises in steaks but also serves a range of grilled fish, chicken and BBQ dishes too. There’s also lovely veggie options such as the grilled halloumi cheese layered with tomatoes sauce and courgettes as well as the standard meaty BBQ options such as the 12 hour slow cooked, herb marinated, boneless beef ribs topped with pickles, onions, cheese, demi-glace sauce and served with fries. Delicious!
