A spotlight on Manchester's Witch Kings Bar

Tucked away in the heart of Manchester lies Witch Kings, a cocktail bar that bewitches its patrons with a unique, enchanting ambiance. From the moment you step through the door, you are transported into a realm where the mystical and the modern are intertwined. This bar is not just a place to grab a drink; it’s an experience that immerses you in a world of magic, mystery, and mixology. Are you feeling intrigued…?

The history of Witch Kings is as intriguing as its name suggests. The bar was founded by a group of like-minded individuals who shared a passion for witchcraft and the occult, coupled with a love for fine cocktails. They envisioned a place where the ancient arts of alchemy and potion-making could be brought to life through expertly crafted drinks. Over the years, Witch Kings has become a beloved spot for both locals and tourists, known not only for its creative beverages and epic plates, but also for its immersive atmosphere that captures the essence of witchcraft.

Being both a restaurant and cocktail bar, you can tailor your experience to suit your needs. Whether you’re in for an alluring wine & dine date night or just popping in for a nightcap, both the food and drinks menus have you sorted.

Let’s start with drinks! Witch Kings offers a diverse range of cocktails, mocktails, draught beers, hot and soft drinks, and a curated wine list, as well as fresh fruit rum liqueurs and syrups crafted in-house. Some of our favourite bespoke tipples are the Blazing Wreck (a spiced strawberry rum delight), Deep Purple (a fruity sour concoction with hibiscus), Smoky Morning (a smoky coffee old fashioned), and the Mangos on Fire (a fiery, fruity rum punch). A majority of their cocktails can be made without the alcohol too.

They have the classic house beers and ciders, with the option to add in their homemade hibiscus or ginger home-made syrups for free. Red, white, orange, rose, and bubbly wines are all available too, if you’re looking to stay on the vinos.

If it’s an eccentric memorable dinner you’re after, look no further than Witch King’s enticing food menu. Wednesday through to Sunday, sink your teeth into crostinis with prosciutto, fig, and mint or mozzarella, chilli, and basil, crispy breaded whitebait with garlic and lemon aioli, brie bites with a cranberry compote, and three-cheese fondue with ciabatta to dip.

The main affair is Witch King’s epic slider burger menu; blue cheese and fig sliders, pulled BBQ jackfruit, halloumi and avocado chimichurri, and raclette and prosciutto all make an appearance, as well as their signature classic burger with IPA shallot marmalade and smoky tomato relish. Add on a side of crispy buffalo wings or their cheese fondue fries and you’re all set.

PS. You’ll want to save some room in your second stomach so you can finish off with their bourbon pecan pie, or perhaps a slice of caramel apple pie with a dollop of pina colada ice cream.

Witch Kings is delightfully mystical and charmingly bewitching, suitable for patrons from all walks of life, even down your witchy pups (who can even be treated to a scoop of dog-friendly ice cream). More than just a cocktail bar, the unique concept makes for an unforgettable and slightly out-of-the-box experience. Book your table and experience the magic of Witch Kings today!

You’ll find the bar and restaurant at 312 Slade Lane, Levenshulme M19 2BY, open Wednesday through to Sunday.
