Is that the full name?

We haven’t told you what it’s called yet! It’s the “Campagnarde” on the Galette menu.

Where do you get it?

Roule Galette, Scott Alley, 241 Flinders Lane, Melbourne VIC 3000 (also in Carnegie).

Why is it a winner?

Picture this: You’re looking for a classic Melbourne laneway breakfast experience, but you’ve got four kids in tow and one of them can’t eat gluten or dairy. Mission Impossible? Nope, not at Roule Galette in Flinders Lane. Happily tucked into the window seat, you don’t hear a peep out of the kids as they gorge on Nutella and strawberry jam crepes, with a gluten-free, vegan crepe available for the one with allergies. You take advantage of the quiet and go for the Campagnarde galette. You’re far from disappointed. A buckwheat pancake, more substantial than a crepe, comes filled with Swiss cheese, mushroom, juicy bits of bacon and a free range egg in the middle. Now this is a family breakfast worth repeating!
