Beer lovers rejoice because we’ve got a real treat for you! If you’re looking for a fabulous place to unwind and sample some of London’s best freshly brewed beers, we’ve got just the place! Here are our five favourite breweries and taprooms across the capital to grab a pint of the good stuff…
This bar and microbrewery is located in the capital’s striking Exmouth Market, making for a brilliant afternoon/evening of people watching with a few cold ones. With its Danish-inspired, industrial cool interiors, you might be surprised to learn that this venue is the second of its kind in London to open in collaboration with eighties icon Rick Astley! The two-floor space is home to a bar, restaurant and brewery, the latter of which can produce 7.5 hectolitres of beer at once and supplies the site with beautifully fresh pours.
Enjoy the creations of the well-loved Camden Town Brewery at the vibrant Camden Beer Hall, located under Camden’s original arches in a historic yet contemporary space. Camden Town Brewery are simply passionate about serving great beer and well known for their popular ‘Camden Hell Lager’ which is the lovechild of their two favourite German beers, Helles and Pilsner. Their Camden Beer Hall really has it all, including 24 beer taps with fresh new beers on offer every week, brewery tours, live sports, street parties and delicious comfort food such as burgers and sharing platters to choose from. Furry friends are also more than welcome to join in the party so bring them along!
The London Beer Factory does exactly what it says on the tin! The Barrel Project is a taproom and blender situated within London Beer Factory which is nestled under an old Victorian rail archway on the famous Bermondsey Beer Mile. Inside, you’ll be welcomed into a rustic and relaxed drinking space lined with nearly 200 oak barrels which form part of the aging process for their incredible house barrel aged beers. The Barrel Project also serve craft beers across 24 taps, so you’ll have heaps to choose from, including IPAs, wild ales, blonde beers and hoppier numbers. This trendy taproom is a great place to come to watch live sports on the big screen, get involved in one of their fun in-house events, and grab a bite to eat from one of their local street food vendors who operate on site. It’s a yes from us!
Looking for a centrally located drinking spot for after work drinks? Well, head on down to the Bermondsey Beer Mile where you’ll find Hiver, a buzzing taproom and bar serving a wide range of natural craft beers and delectable wines. Hiver’s speciality is honey beer due to their passion for working with independent beekeepers in the UK, so be sure to sample some of their blonde and amber honey beer while you’re there. Hiver is technically part of the Maltby Street Market, so if you’re peckish you’ll be able to grab a bite at the local food stalls to enjoy at one of Hiver’s sunny picnic tables alongside a pint! They’re also dog-friendly, making it a great place to stop off and refuel after a long dog walk.
