Liverpool may be renowned for its stag and hen parties but, it’s a brilliant city to spend a family day, weekend or even a whole week! There are plenty of child-friendly activities like a guided open-bus tour, a trip around Albert Dock on the infamous yellow submarine and of course, Liverpool is also renowned for its trendy foodie scene. Crust was awarded the Best Pizza in the UK in the Italian Awards in 2019, so we know you’ll be in great hands when visiting this prestigious restaurant. Crust, which has restaurants on Bold Street in the city centre and Allerton Road inWoolton, won the prestigious award after going head-to-head with champions from Wales, England and Northern Ireland. Alongside tasty pizzas, there’s also some amazing fresh pasta dishes, most of which are all under £10, making it an affordable option if you’re feeding a family. And the portion sizes are more than enough to take a doggy-bag home for the next day!

Located on Falkner Street, The Quarter is a family-run and family-owned business, so naturally it’s the perfect location for your family and children to go for quality food. Located on Falkner Street, near the Anglican Cathedral, The Quarter is in a beautiful location. The menu caters to everyone, including mini versions of its best sellers on the children’s menu. As well as this, The Quarter also serves vegan and vegetarian options, including a selection of special dishes, available every day. There are highchairs available for younger children too, so the whole family will be well looked after.

Maray

Located at the top of Liverpool’s bustling and bohemian Bold Street, Maray offers Middle Eastern, North African and Mediterranean inspired small plates. Maray is a great place for families with older children who are a little more adventurous, with the restaurant offering a trendy atmosphere with a range of smaller dishes. Although the menu doesn’t have a designated children’s menu, the staff are more than accommodating to families.

The Jug & Bottle serves the best quality pub food, with favourites including ham, egg and chips, steaks, burgers, and – of course – fish and chips. The children’s menu is just as appetising, with a mini 4oz rump steak with fries and peas on offer and mini classics of all your favourite pub grub, so they don’t feel left out! LEAF on Bold Street is a lovely spot to watch the world go by, whether you want tea and cake or something savoury, there’s a great menu for big and little kids alike. LEAF serves a children’s brunch menu or a two-course lunch/dinner menu for only £8.50. Both come with free colouring-in sheets and pencils to keep the children entertained while you relax with a glass of something special or a lovely herbal tea.

Located in beautiful Woolton Village, an affluent and leafy suburb of Liverpool, The Elephant Pub & Bakehouse is the ideal pit-stop after a fresh walk with the family whether you want a light bite, just a coffee or something bigger. The Elephant accommodates all, including children; the kid’s menu, or ‘The Little Elephant’s Menu’, includes mini starters like hummus and carrot sticks, mains like a mini cheeseburger, and delicious desserts like sticky toffee pudding. There are two TGI Fridays restaurants in Liverpool, one in Speke and one located on the top of Liverpool One. TGI Fridays serves hearty, delicious American food and the ‘old school American diner’ vibe will keep the children entertained. This is also a great place to celebrate birthdays as the staff are always enthusiastic and love to make you feel special. The Shippons is a traditional pub set in the heart of Irby village halfway between Chester and Liverpool. It won the Thwaits Hospitality Pub of the Year this year too, which makes it a must visit. As well as amazing classic British pub food, this place has an extensive dessert menu to match and a lovely children’s menu too. This is a lovely place to relax with the entire family any day of the week.
