A spotlight on Dublin's Data
Having served up delicious Pakistani food since 1999, it’s safe to say Daata knows their stuff.
Found in the suburb of Blackrock in Dublin, Daata is a family-owned-and-run restaurant dishing up truly authentic Pakistani and Indian fare. The award-winning venue makes everything fresh to order, including traditional Indian classics, as well as bespoke Daata dishes that bend the rules to create a contemporary flare. The restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it is a cultural experience that celebrates the heritage and artistry of Pakistani food. Daata is a Dublin must try!
From the moment you step foot in the door, the mood for your meal is set. Rich, bright colours adorn the walls in the multi-storied venue. Across the restaurant, you’ll find cosy, intimate seating with tapestries dividing tables for a touch more privacy. Greenery, lamps, murals, and trinkets add to the ambiance, creating multiple discussion pieces and a homely feeling.
We can’t forget about one of Daata Blackrock’s best features – the stunning rooftop terrace. Offering spectacular views of the Dublin skyline, the rooftop is a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a cocktail after a long day. The terrace is elegantly designed with comfortable seating and lush greenery, creating a serene oasis above the city. Choose from a selection of expertly crafted cocktails, each with its own unique twist on traditional Pakistani flavours. Whether it’s a refreshing Himalayan Paloma or a strong Daata Sour, you won’t find a better spot to sip away an evening.
As for the main affair – let’s get into the food! Divided into small plates, main courses, and vegetarian/vegan options, the menu is extensive and broad, meaning you’ll want to try as much as you can.
Our top menu highlights include the seekh kebab (minced lamb marinated in freshly ground Pakistani spices), tikki (spinach and potato filled tikki, golden fried, and packed with Daata spice), their famous Afghani chicken (creamy, spicy chicken curry with fresh tomatoes, fenugreek, black pepper and a hint of zesty lemon), chana masala (chickpeas sautéed with tomatoes, fresh ginger, garlic, fenugreek, black peppercorns, garam masala, and fresh coriander), and the bhindi bhaji (chopped okra cooked with onions, fresh tomatoes, fresh ginger, and garam masala).
Of course, they still have all the classics too, like their vegetable samosas, chicken tikka, Saleem’s butter chicken, tandoori chicken, coconut curry, biriyani, and saag paneer. With a side of naan, some poppadoms, mango chutney, and mint yoghurt, you really can’t go wrong.
To drink; like we mentioned, Daata’s cocktails are renowned! But if you’re looking for a more straightforward tipple, their wine and beer list is equally impressive, with a range of brews and batches from across the globe, as well as a dedicated fine wine section of the menu. And if non-alcoholic is more your thing, a Daata lassi is just as delicious and refreshing as it sounds. Choose from mango, sweet lassi, savoury lassi, or blackberry & lychee lassi to keep your cool when the dishes heat up.
Ideal for a cosy intimate date night in a romantic booth for two, or larger gatherings with family and friends full of sharing plates and banter; you can count on Daata for a perfect experience every time. From great food, warm service, and a unique ambiance, book your table now.
