Dish Cult's winning restaurants at the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Great Britain and Ireland 2023
The prestigious Michelin Stars were unveiled this week at the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Great Britain & Ireland 2023. Eight restaurants were awarded three coveted Michelin stars (three of which are Dish Cult venues), while 25 were given two Michelin stars. Here we’ll be celebrating all of Dish Cult’s 2023 Michelin star winners.
L’Enclume
First and foremost, congratulations to the team at L’Enclume in the Lake District for retaining their third Michelin star. The restaurant won its coveted third star last year and has successfully kept it again in 2023. Since opening in 2002 diners from all across the country and beyond have been flocking to the idyllic riverside location in the historic village of Cartmel to experience Simon Rogan’s distinctive culinary style. Book a table with Dish Cult to experience this culinary haven for yourself.
Honorary mentions must go to Hélène Darroze at The Connaught and The Waterside Inn for also retaining their 3 Michelin stars.
Dede
In 2020, talented Turkish-born chef Ahmet Dede travelled three doors up from the now closed Mews restaurant to open dede at the Customs House. Within a few months, it had scooped its first Michelin star, and now it’s bagged its second. Using raw and fresh ingredients from West Cork, and working closely with producers, farmers and fishermen who share the same ethos for sustainable, organic and minimal waste approach farming, Chef Dede and team are onto a winning thing – as is evident with this win.
The Hand & Flowers
Congratulations to all the team at The Hand & Flowers in Marlow who are celebrating becoming the only 2 Michelin starred pub in the UK. As well as serving award-winning food from celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, the pub is renowned for its warm settings and very welcoming staff.
Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons
As its name suggests, the seasons lead the way at 2 Michelin starred Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons. Wander the grounds and you’ll discover an amazing array of plants, as well as a 2,500 strong orchard. Legendary chef Raymond Blanc leads the team, with protégé Luke Selby heading up the kitchen – and, while the skilfully executed cooking has a classic French base, it also comes with a light, modern touch.
Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud
This iconic, 2 Michelin starred Irish restaurant celebrated 40 years in 2021 and, while a large part of its success is down to the eponymous chef himself – who has certainly earned his place in Irish culinary history – it is also due to the team Patrick Guilbaud has built around him. The restaurant is hidden within a Georgian townhouse, and oozes sumptuousness and sophistication thanks to features such as a gilt barrel ceiling and hand-crafted marquetry.
